"Go ahead and procrastinate for another whole year if you want to redo 2011 all over again."
Ouch! Really? I. don't. think. so.
Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for every blessed day God gives me on this earth but who wants to go another year without growing, learning, realizing dreams? I've seen countless posts of setting resolutions, goals, making lists and finding the "new you" in 2012. Problem is... I make lists all year long... I have enough goals to keep me busy until, well, you know... and resolutions? Every day I make resolutions to get more exercise, eat healthier, blah blah blah... But where's my motivation? Where's my energy?
Well, Donna at Funky Junk Interiors just HAD to go there, didn't she? But,honestly, I'm so glad that she did! That one little sentence smacked me in the face like a dead fish (unfortunately, I do have personal experience with this).
I'm tired of too much talk and not enough action. I entered into a new decade in life last year. Time to get a move on! I have thoughts and ideas and even a workshop to call my own. So, you might be asking, "What's my problem?" That's the very same thing I've been asking myself. I convinced my husband to let me take some time off work to follow my creative dreams. We're living on his income alone. You'd think that would be motivation enough! But, my workshop sits in disarray. I continue to eat things I shouldn't, spend too much time sitting at the computer and then hoping it would all be different.
So, who wants to redo 2011 all over again?
Not me!
I want a different year. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Not this year. This year is going to be different. This year is going to change everything!
Won't you join me?
Bring it on, Donna... let's see whatcha got!
WOW... this was powerful! You KNOW I'm watching you now, right? Hang on... I need to tell a few people I know about your big plans... will that help keep you on the straight and narrow?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what ARE you going to do? May I see a list please?

ReplyDeleteMe tooooo! Let's see where we get to in 2012. Trying to look past taking care of two mom's in my life and live in children and grandchildren. Must clean up, clean out and create! MUST!
ReplyDeleteWOW! It was like you were reading my mind! I too have been given the time off work to "reinvent" myself physically, spiritually and creatively! And I'm not sure I have really made use of the last 6 months! God bless you girl! You got me out of bed this morning!!!

ReplyDeleteAs for me - committed to change! House is my workshop until funds/salvaged/recycled finish the interior of my shed! Luv Donna, One Funky Gal!
ReplyDeleteI was truly inspired by your response to Donna's post. I've been trying to get something started myself. Working on getting the time, hubby wants to build me the space, but I'm scared. Terrified really. I'm sick of all of the talking and obsessing, I'm exhausted! Time to start doing. I can't wait to see what comes next for you...and maybe even me. Wish I knew where to start...Good luck! Keep moving!
ReplyDeleteWOW! This is really something, Show me the Treasure, I thought about just copying your comment, cause I thought I wrote it! I too have been givin the gift of "time off" although not it was not my idea... and feel I'm wasting it. I'm now a follower here (Donna sent me) and I'm in this all the way!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration as a follow-up to Donna's yesterday. Making resolutions is not a favorite of mine for fear of disappointing myself when I don't complete them. So I will make some changes but you didn't hear it here. (lol) Here's to a great 2012. Let's go for it.
ReplyDeleteGo Girl! I have not been blessed with the gift of time off to follow my dream, but I have been bitten by the Inspiration Bugs! I'm tired of being stalled and something needs to change! Part of my problem is I've been bitten by too many I-bugs, so my focus is all over the place. I'm rollin' up my sleeves and I'm on board with the challenge!
